DR. CARLOS J. HUERTA.
CHARISMATIC LINGUAPHILE EXPLORES THE WORLD,

HIS INFECTIOUS LAUGHTER.
Dr. Carlos J. Huerta received his DMD from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in Philadelphia in 2004 and completed a post-graduate advanced residency in general dentistry at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia in 2005, advancing his skills in restorative and cosmetic dentistry, as well as in surgical procedures and endodontics.
With a background and continued hobby in the arts, Dr. Huerta’s talent adds to his creative approaches to cosmetic dental treatment and to his ingenuity in effecting not only physical stability in the environment but also in using light and shadow and other nuances to create the illusion of ideal aesthetics with minimal alteration to the healthy tooth structure.
Having an undergraduate major in humanities, Dr. Huerta also has lived abroad and has continued to feed his interest in learning about diverse cultures and languages, continually increasing his understanding of the human element in dental treatment, and contributing more every day to his endearing relationship with his patients.
Since his move to New York in 2005, Dr. Huerta expanded his practice into clear aligner orthodontic treatment, and after opening The Dental Boutique, he has further expanded into the age of digital dentistry with CAD/CAM technology (intraoral imaging, CBCT 3D X-rays, and 3D printing). With these digital tools, patients can have more precise same-day crowns, night guards, and orthodontic aligners and retainers, as well as guided implant placement and restoration.
In addition, Dr. Huerta uses a carbon dioxide laser to replace the drill for injection-free fillings and to replace the scalpel for intraoral surgeries, biopsies, and gum depigmentation.
He continues to expand his knowledge on various maxillofacial procedures such as perioral therapeutic and cosmetic treatments, among others.
He is an affiliate of the American Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry.
LUNA
THE DENTAL BOUTIQUE’S RESIDENT THERAPY DOG.
The Dental Boutique’s resident therapy dog, Luna, came through happenstance. I adopted her as a six-month-old puppy in November 2014. I had her at the office as part of house training, but in the process, we had a moment that sealed her position in patient comfort management. On one of Luna’s days in the office, a patient hovered by the entrance after pushing open the door. Luna came around the corner to see her, and we heard a sigh of relief. Our lovely visitor had not been to a dental appointment for over ten years, and in the previous three months had been to five practices, unable to get past the door. With Luna, she was able to fill out forms and have a complete set of x-rays, an exam, and a cleaning. She said the only reason she could sit in the lounge was our puppy. At that point, I knew Luna would be in the office daily.
She is an intuitive soul and an essential part of our practice. The reviews about her almost make me jealous, but if she can help people continue their oral health care more comfortably, I can be nothing more than proud of her. She has even been in the New York Times and on Inside Edition for her merits!
HAKEMA
“MOM, IT’S TIME TO FLOSS!”
Hakema graduated with a degree in Applied Science in Dental Hygiene from NYC College of Technology and has been a registered dental hygienist since 2016. Since 2018, she has worked as a valued team member with The Dental Boutique, working with both children and adults. Her motivation is knowing she motivates patients to take ownership of, and improve, their oral hygiene. She has three beautiful children who, like mom, love to brush their teeth. Although they haven’t completely avoided the occasional cavity, they make her proud when they remind her that “Mom, it’s time to floss!”
IAN
IAN IS TRULY A UNIQUE AND ESSENTIAL PART OF THE STAFF AT THE DENTAL BOUTIQUE.
Ian is truly a unique and essential part of the staff at The Dental Boutique. Joining the team in 2021, with no prior exposure to the field of dentistry, he learned, daily, on the job beside Dr. Huerta and the rest of the staff, and is thriving as the Clinical Manager of the practice. He not only runs clinical chairside procedures but also uses the creativity from his background in graphic design at F.I.T. to keep our digital laboratory in perfect function. He designs and 3-D prints night guards, implant surgical guides, diagnostic models, and orthodontic appliances with ease, keeping our patients in a quicker treatment flow than other practices. He also designs and mills crowns, bridges, and veneers for same-day treatment. Other passions include running his own clothing lifestyle brand with his partner and being a proud father to his adorable daughter Harley.
PRISILA
“MISSION OF MERCY.”
Prisila has been working in the dental field for over 15 years, working with The Dental Boutique since 2018. With a start as a dental assistant, she furthered her education to become a dental hygienist, graduating from the Fornes School of Dental Hygiene in Connecticut, the first dental hygiene school in the world! Receiving her bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene, with a focus on public health, she continues to involve herself in public health missions and volunteering in free dental clinics like “Mission of Mercy.” She loves her applauded time with her patients, providing them with amazing dental care, while educating them on how to conquer their own oral health goals. Outside of dental practice, she enjoys a continuous journey in interior design and in travel.
ESMA
“THE EYE DOES NOT SEE WHAT THE MIND DOES NOT KNOW.”
Esma’s family knew she might have a future in dentistry, since she used to make teeth out of Play-Doh and play “dentist.” Working her way from a dental practice receptionist to a dental assistant, her passion for interactive patient care let her to the challenge of becoming a dental hygienist, and she graduated from the NYC College of Technology in 2010 with a degree in Applied Science in Dental Hygiene. During hygiene school she discovered her passion and talent for being able to soothe the anxiety of her patients, especially one patient on whom she found a lesion in the throat. The personal investment and interaction with this patient was validation for Esma that she had not only chosen the right career path but that it was, and remains, her calling. She has a belief in continuing education because “The eye does not see what the mind does not know.”
DENNIS
HIS CHARISMATIC, EVEN-KEELED, POSITIVE PERSONALITY ALSO SPREADS TO THE REST OF THE STAFF.
Dennis joined the team of The Dental Boutique in 2021 with no prior experience in the field of dentistry. He did, however, have a background in hospitality, which translated into a perfect match for a patient coordinator, being focused on the guest experience from the point of first contact, through scheduling, and at the time of guiding them through arriving to and leaving from their visits. Although humble about his enjoyment of interacting with and helping patients, his passion shows through feedback from and reviews by guests of The Dental Boutique. His charismatic, even-keeled, positive personality also spreads to the rest of the staff, and it doesn’t hurt that he has a radiant smile! Away from the front desk, Dennis enjoys time with family and friends, whether it be in a restaurant, on a dance floor, on a plane, or just lounging at home.
